At Home…

In my issue of  “Real Simple, this month’s question was “What does home mean to you?”  One of the reader’s answered “A warm bed that you can’t get out of in the morning, a tiny pink toothbrush in the bathroom, and the sound of my husband’s key in the door at the end of the day.”

Mine would be something like this…home to me is my dog’s sudden urge to roll on the ground, growling, groaning over a never ending itch, when my husband finally creeps into bed after his nightly rituals are done (eating a bowl of cereal and one last show), and pictures on the wall of the most important people in my life.”

I feel so fulfilled.  I am doing something that I absolutely love and feel an overwhelming sense of its importance…documenting love and interaction between families.  I realize it can be weird or awkward having me, a stranger, into your homes and have you engage and interact with each other as if there isn’t a girl with a big camera clicking away.  But, I do want to say thank you for allowing me into your lives, for displaying affection in front of me to the ones you love.  It makes my heart so happy and gives me an overwhelming sense of fulfillment.  Thank you, my clients, for allowing me to do this job.

Home is looking through the eyes of your child and sensing their wonderment and observing their soul.
